ABOUT MEGHAN
In her senior year, Meghan was honored by being chosen, by her peers, Village Christian High School's Homecoming Queen. Shortly thereafter, she received an invitation from America's Homecoming Queen, Inc., to apply for the title of California's Homecoming Queen. Meghan learned that AMQ is a non-profit organization promoting education, educational travel and community service in all 50 states. AMQ is interested in young women who have shown outstanding leadership qualities both in their school and their community. Out of thousands of applicants, Meghan was selected as one of the California Finalists. She was invited to the Thirty-Sixth Annual State Finals which was held in Anaheim last April. After an exhaustive day of interviews, speeches and pageantry, Meghan was announced California’s Homecoming Queen. In July 2016, Meghan traveled, on an all-expense paid trip, to Memphis TN to compete for the title of America's Homecoming Queen. All the State Queens had the privilege to spend a day with the children at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Memphis. At the National Finals, Meghan was announced Fourth Runner up for America's Homecoming Queen. Meghan has enjoyed the opportunity to be an example for young girls and boys and to inspire them to use their God given gifts and talents in incredible ways. Meghan strives to make a positive difference, especially to those who are hurting, abused, neglected and who have suffered loss; those in need of hope. Meghan has made several partnerships with California businesses and philanthropies and intends to continue the work she started as California's Homecoming Queen in the future.
Prior to volleyball, Meghan was a dancer. She started dancing at three years old and began dancing competitively at age five. Throughout her journey, she received hundreds of awards for her jazz and lyrical dances. Towards the end of her dancing career, Meghan was ranked in the top ten nationally. In February 2017, Meghan stepped back into the world of dance and choreographed a lyrical dance routine for Zoe's Feet Dance Ministry at Wheaton College. She also performed in a handful of dance routines at Wheaton's Confessions 2017.
During her middle school years, Meghan was Student Body President at La Canada Preparatory. She was awarded Female Athlete of the Year in 2011 and 2012 and was MVP of Foothill Sports League for volleyball in 2012.
Meghan is a determined and disciplined young woman with integrity-filled character. She holds strong Christian values, and has a deep, steadfast, and personal relationship with God. She lives her life in order to bring glory to Him. One of her favorite Bible verses is Philippians 4:13 which states, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Meghan enjoys the beach and a beautiful sunset, hanging out with friends, volunteering at her church and local outreach programs, reading, and working out.
